DOT testing for trucking companies

Order DOT drug and alcohol tests for your drivers, online.

Screenin House coordinates DOT test orders for FMCSA-regulated carriers through a contracted testing provider and its collection sites. You'll see a published price and clear order status. The result goes from the MRO directly to your DER.

How it works

Five steps from request to result. The result always goes straight to your Designated Employer Representative (DER), the person at your company who receives test results.

  1. You request a test

One short form: your company, your DER, the driver and the test reason.

  2. You pay the published price

Card payment on a secure hosted checkout page.

  3. We place the order

We place it with our testing provider during business hours. The test authorization goes to your DER.

  4. Your driver goes to the collection site

The driver goes to the site named on the authorization before it expires, with a photo ID.

  5. The MRO reports to your DER

A Medical Review Officer (MRO) reports the verified result directly to your DER. We send you status updates, never results.

Services

For FMCSA-regulated employers testing their CDL drivers under 49 CFR Part 382.

DOT urine drug test

A lab-based 5-panel test, analyzed by an HHS-certified laboratory and reviewed by an MRO.

DOT breath alcohol test

By appointment, where the testing provider offers it.

All six DOT test reasons

Pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up. Return-to-duty and follow-up collections are directly observed.

Post-accident and reasonable-suspicion tests have strict time limits. We handle them during our business hours only. Outside those hours, don't wait for us: contact a collection site directly.

Who it's for

Small carriers

Owners and safety managers who need to order a test for one driver quickly, often from a phone.

Growing fleets

Fleets with several drivers, locations and users. A company account with driver lists, order history, invoices and record exports is planned.

Owner-operators with their own authority

You're your own employer and need to be in a random-testing consortium. We can't act as your DER and we don't run random selection. If you're already in a consortium, contact us about individual tests.

Our role, plainly

We coordinate your orders. Clear roles protect your drivers' privacy and your records.

What we do

  • Take your test request online
  • Show a published price and take payment
  • Place the order with our contracted testing provider
  • Keep you updated on order status by e-mail

What we never do

  • We are not a laboratory, collection site, MRO or DER
  • We never see or hold test results
  • We don't decide whether a test is needed
  • We don't contact your driver; your DER does

Questions

Who receives the test result?

Your DER. The MRO reports the verified result directly to your DER. Screenin House never receives or stores results.

What do I need to place an order?

Your company name, your DER's contact details, the driver's name, their CDL number and issuing state, the test reason, and a ZIP code near where the driver can test. We never ask for a Social Security number.

How much does a test cost?

We'll publish the price per test on this site before ordering opens. There's no need to call for a quote.

Do you run random testing programs or the Clearinghouse?

No. If you're selected through your own program or your consortium, you can order that driver's test with us. Employers run Clearinghouse queries and reports themselves on FMCSA's Clearinghouse website.

When will ordering open?

Soon. Contact us and we'll let you know.
